Hot Honey
Sweet, slow heat with a floral finish — a five-minute condiment that upgrades pizza, fried chicken, cheese boards, and everything in between.
Ingredients
- 1 cuphoney(mild variety like clover or wildflower)
- 2 tbspred pepper flakes
- 1 tbspapple cider vinegar
- 1 pinchkosher salt
Method
- 01
Combine the 1 cup honey and 2 tbsp red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat.
- 02
Warm the mixture, stirring occasionally, until the honey is loose and just beginning to bubble at the edges — about 3 to 4 minutes. Do not let it boil.
- 03
Remove from heat and stir in the 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar and 1 pinch kosher salt.
- 04
Let the honey steep for 5 minutes so the pepper flakes fully infuse their heat.
- 05
Taste and add more red pepper flakes if you want a sharper bite, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean jar — or leave the flakes in for extra texture and heat.
- 06
Cool completely before sealing. Store at room temperature for up to 1 month.
