- 6 tbspunsalted butter(softened to room temperature)
- 4 clovesgarlic(minced or pressed)
- 2 tbspfresh flat-leaf parsley(finely chopped)
- ¼ tspkosher salt
- ¼ tspblack pepper(freshly ground)
- 2 tbspParmesan(finely grated, optional)
Method
- 01
Preheat the oven to 375 °F (190 °C).
- 02
In a small bowl, combine the 6 tbsp softened butter, 4 cloves minced garlic, 2 tbsp parsley, ¼ tsp kosher salt, and ¼ tsp black pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
- 03
Slice the 1 large baguette in half lengthwise, cutting all the way through to produce two long halves.
- 04
Spread the garlic butter evenly across the cut face of each baguette half, going all the way to the edges.
- 05
If using, sprinkle the 2 tbsp Parmesan evenly over both buttered halves.
- 06
Place the halves cut-side up on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, until the butter has melted and the bread is warmed through.
- 07
Switch the oven to broil (high) and broil for 2–3 minutes, watching closely, until the top is golden and the edges are lightly crisp.
- 08
Remove from the oven, let cool for 1–2 minutes, then slice crosswise into individual portions and serve immediately.
