# Garlic Bread

Crusty baguette loaded with garlic butter and toasted until golden — the side dish that disappears before everything else.

Prep: 10 min · Cook: 15 min · Total: 25 min · Yields: 6 servings

## Ingredients

- 1 large baguette (or Italian loaf)
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced or pressed)
- 2 tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley (finely chopped)
- ¼ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper (freshly ground)
- 2 tbsp Parmesan (finely grated, optional)

## Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375 °F (190 °C).
2. In a small bowl, combine the 6 tbsp softened butter, 4 cloves minced garlic, 2 tbsp parsley, 0.25 tsp kosher salt, and 0.25 tsp black pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
3. Slice the 1 large baguette in half lengthwise, cutting all the way through to produce two long halves.
4. Spread the garlic butter evenly across the cut face of each baguette half, going all the way to the edges.
5. If using, sprinkle the 2 tbsp Parmesan evenly over both buttered halves.
6. Place the halves cut-side up on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, until the butter has melted and the bread is warmed through.
7. Switch the oven to broil (high) and broil for 2–3 minutes, watching closely, until the top is golden and the edges are lightly crisp.
8. Remove from the oven, let cool for 1–2 minutes, then slice crosswise into individual portions and serve immediately.

## Tip

> Softened — not melted — butter is key. Melted butter soaks straight in and leaves the surface greasy; softened butter stays on top long enough to toast the bread before absorbing, giving you that crisp, golden crust.
