## Ingredients

- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

## Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment.
2. Whisk 2 1/4 cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda, and 1 tsp salt in a bowl.
3. In a large bowl, beat 1 cup softened butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
4. Beat in 2 eggs and 2 tsp vanilla until smooth.
5. Add the dry ingredients in two additions, mixing on low until just combined.
6. Fold in 2 cups chocolate chips by hand.
7. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers still look soft.
8. Cool on the sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.

## Tip

> Chill the dough overnight. Hydrated flour + caramelized sugar = thick, chewy, browned-butter flavor without the brown butter.
